These are just some quick sketches I've been doing when I've got half an hour spare.

Saturday 5 June 2010

But it was too busy for an exhibition. So I had to be more selective, and it ended up like this (minus the paint pot) but I was still happy with it. We all had a really good night :-D

And then I hit a problem. This is how it first looked on this wall, I was extremely proud of it.

These are the portraits, people had fun spotting who they were, which I found quite funny :-)

And this is how it finished. The birds are a set of Major Arcana tarot card designs. I call it the Uccello Tarot, Italian for bird.

Big exhibition night is over :-) And after much stress I'm now happy with how it looked. This is all the start of it...

last few :-)

...sorry if you're here all day...

And even more...

More tarot...

My tarot cards
are finally done!!! (and yes, it is a tarot with a bird theme) I'm pleased with the majority and cant wait to get them in a window mount :-)

That link doesn't work, but there's one at the top of the page :-)
This is a video made of our exhibition for ESOL, an english language course for students who have moved to the UK. I'm really happy with the video and the work that was put in by everyone. http://moodle.hull-college.ac.uk/webs/flv/esolhsad.html

Web Design

My website is now finished! And after all the stress I'm finally very happy with it (there's a link above.)
I started it months ago, and after doing a mock up design I practised using it with dreamweaver. I then made a final design in Photoshop and put it into dreamweaver. The first few times I put it onto the internet there were problems, like the text would stretch all the way down to the bottom of the page, or some text would be in the wrong place. I realised that this was because I had unwanted layers in my Photoshop designs, so I went back and sorted it out by changing the header names so that they were the same on each page. It worked fine after that. I used a hover method for my images as this is a very user-friendly method, you don't have to click to view anything. I made my thumbnails by cropping my images to 60x60 px. I changed the height of my main images to 20cm so that they all fit well into the page. I put the hover code into my code and changed it to show my images. Some of them have 12 thumbnails per page, some have less as I am still doing some of the work that I want on it. I'm really happy with how it's turned out! :-)

Friday 12 March 2010

This is my entry for the YCN competition, British Music Express. I think it works really well!

Wednesday 17 February 2010

Just a quick sketch, a cat too silly to realise he's even got a fish, and another cat's jealousy of him.

Friday 12 February 2010

This week I've been working on some valentines cards. I've kept it very simple but I think the brightly coloured ones look nice, and I love the one with the cat.

Thursday 4 February 2010

I've been drawing lots of cats lately, some more successful than others! The cat in the mirror seems to be a favourite.

Tuesday 2 February 2010

Today I finished these two drawings, this is Rutland Water. I love this way of working and think it makes some pretty successful images.

And this is Custom House in Dublin. I changed the colour scheme for this one and although I think it looks good I don't feel like it works as well as the others.

Monday 1 February 2010

I've done two more portraits over the weekend, Bill Bailey

And Matt Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park)

I've also done a quick drawing of Angel Of The North. I love working in this style and think they make quite successful images
